1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Kento you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What the app is
Kento is a tool for recording Go (Baduk, Weiqi) games, importing them, reading positions from photographs, and analyzing them with the on-device KataGo engine. Analysis results are the output of a statistical engine and are provided for information only.
3. Disclaimer of warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available". No warranty, express or implied, is given as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of analysis results, photo recognition, or time estimates. Uninterrupted or error-free operation is not promised.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app — including loss of data, loss of profit, or tournament and game outcomes. In any event, the developer's total liability is limited to the amount you paid within the app. Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
5. Purchases
The in-app "lifetime" unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Payment, billing, and refunds are governed entirely by the terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play; refund requests must be made to the relevant store. The purchase can be restored on your other devices signed in to the same store account.
6. Cloud backup
Cloud backup is an optional feature; it requires sign-in and is governed by the Privacy Policy. Continuous availability is not guaranteed; the service may be changed or discontinued with reasonable notice. You can delete your account and cloud data from within the app at any time.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its design, and its branding belong to the developer. The games and SGF files you record belong to you. Kento includes the MIT-licensed open-source KataGo engine.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use the app lawfully and not to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute it in violation of store rules.
9. Changes
These terms may be updated; the current version is always published on this page. Material changes will be announced via the app or store release notes.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. For consumer disputes, the consumer arbitration boards and courts of the user's place of residence have jurisdiction; mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
